NOVO-DIA'S RAGING RED BARON, CD, RE, TDI, TT, CGC, VA
" BARON "
Date of Birth: 11/16/2004
Sire: CH Kuroi Kao Double Shot of O'Grandad, ROM (Shooter)
Dam: Novo-Dia's A Lil Faith in Me (Faith)
Bred by Novo-Dia Kennels by Cyndi Crum (novodogs@fastmail.fm)
Baron is more than I could have ever asked for in an Akita. When Baron’s breeder suggested we purchase him as a “show” dog, we had no idea what that meant or what it involved. Now I am hooked.
I trained Baron in conformation until he was 2 years old. He seemed to enjoy the show ring; however, he began having stomach problems and after tests were done, it was found that he had allergies and a low thyroid. We decided that he would not be bred and Baron is now neutered.
He is not shown in conformation; however, he has obtained his Companion Dog (CD) Title, his Rally Excellent (RE) Title (with a few legs towards his RAE title), passed the Therapy Dog International Inc (TDI) evaluation, passed the American Temperment Test Society Inc (ATTS) evaluation with an "above average" score, and passed the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. We are starting to train in Agility as I promised Baron if he obtained his CD, we would try Agility. Baron recently received the Versatile Akita Certificate (VA) through the Akita Club of America.
Baron visits Meridian Arms Nursing Home on Saturdays when we do not have shows. The residents look forward to seeing Baron each week and even ask when he will be back. He is very gentle with the residents and seems to know which ones are leary of him and his size & he just sits or stands for them to approach him.
Baron is my first "performance" dog and I thank him every day for everything we have accomplished thus far.
" MIKKI "
Date of Birth: 08/29/2009
Sire: CH Mt. Joy's Fortunate One (Fortune)
Dam: CH Huntmere's She's Gone Country, RN, CGC (Casey)
Bred by DeAnne Hunt & Paul Hunt / Huntmere Akitas (huntmerefarm@aol.com)
**Mikki is THE YOUNGEST AKITA to obtain a Rally Novice title at the age of 6 months & 20 days **
We were not planning on another puppy with Rocky being a puppy himself; however, I have always loved Casey and love what she has produced. And having watched the litter grow from birth to 8 weeks, I could not resist ... it was just hard deciding which one would be "our girl."
Mikki is a genuine sweetheart and is fitting in with the boyz. Baron is thankful that Rocky has another dog to play with, but Baron does play with Mikki when "he" wants to play.
She has completed Puppy Kindergarden, Beginners I & II Obedience classes and is training in Rally, Obedience, and Conformation.
Mikki finished her Rally Novice title in three shows at the tender age of 6-1/2 months and passed the Canine Good Citizen test at 8 months. I am so proud of her and she is having so much fun. Mikki is AKC pointed and has a Best of Breed win from the 6-9 month class.
We look forward to sharing our future with this promising puppy.
