We are Mary & Mike Mignogna and we live in Northeast Ohio with our two male Akitas, Baron (who is 7 years old) & Rocky (who is 2 years & 11 months old), and our female Akita, Mikki (who is 2 years & 4 months old). We have been involved with the Akita breed since 2002 and value the information we have obtained since then and that we learn on a daily basis.
I train and show our dogs in Conformation, Rally, Obedience, and Agility through the American Kennel Club (AKC) shows & trials, United Kennel Club (www.ukcdogs.com), and also the International All Breed Canine Association (www.iabca.com). I am in my fifth year as a Board Member of Youngstown All Breed Training Club (YABTC) (www.yabtc.com) & am a current member of the Akita Club of America (ACA) (www.akitaclub.org) and the Ohio Stewards Club. I am on the Versatility Committee for the ACA and am the Obedience Chair for YABTC Obediance Trials. I teach Rally, Puppy, and Beginner I classes & run the Rally Run-Thrus at YABTC. I am also a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator through the AKC. Baron is a certified therapy dog through Therapy Dog International (www.tdi-dog.org).
I enjoy showing my dogs and my friends’ dogs in conformation and/or performance, whether Akitas or other breeds.

** WHAT'S NEW **
Baron, Rocky, & Mikki - were featured in Dog News along with other multi-titled Akitas in the October 21, 2011 edition;
Mikki - received her Versatile Akita Certificate through the Akita Club of America;
Mikki - finished her AKC Championship on 07/03/2011 with a 4-point major and Best of Breed;
Mikki - finished her UKC Championship on 05/22/2011 and took a Reserve Best in Show;
Mikki - finished her Companion Dog (CD) title on 05/15/2011;
Mikki - finished her Rally Excellent title on 03/12/2011;
Baron & Mikki - Baron & Mikki finished their Beginner Novice Obedience titles;
Mikki & Rocky - Mikki is the youngest Akita to obtain a Rally Novice title and Rocky is the 2nd youngest Akita to obtain a Rally Novice title;
Baron - started his TDI visits at a local nursing home, training in Agility, and received his Versatile Akita Certificate through the Akita Club of America;
Rocky - finished his Rally Novice title just under 7-1/2 months old and passed the CGC test;
Mikki - finished her Rally Advanced title at our 2010 Akita Nationals with a 1st place at the Pre-National and a 1st place at the National; won her first AKC point going BOS to her brother at Ravenna Kennel Club on 05/15/2010 from the 6-9 month class; & took a Best of Breed at Ravenna Kennel Club for her second point out of the 6-9 month class; and
